Tetrahydrocannabivarin[Tetrahydrocannabivarin]

Definition:

Tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid that has trace concentrations in cannabis.

THCV, like all other phytocannabinoids, is produced in the glandular hairs on the plant’s surface known as trichomes. THCV binds to the most studied cannabinoid receptors in the body, the CB1 and CB2 receptors.

Though there are still ongoing researches done to completely comprehend the spectrum of THCV’s effects on the human body, considerable studies on both animal and human subjects have found some possible medicinal applications for the cannabinoid:

  1. Bone growth stimulant
  2. Neuroprotective
  3. Anti-inflammatory
  4. Appetite-suppressant
  5. Anticonvulsant
