Tetrahydrocannabinol [Tetrahydrocannabinol]

Definition:

THC refers to delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, the cannabinoid responsible for the high users experience as they consume cannabis products. This psychoactive compound is just one of the 60 various cannabinoids present in Cannabis plants.

For THC to affect us, it attaches to the body’s cannabinoid receptors which are spread throughout the brain and nervous system. THC remains in the body, especially among hair follicles, for up to 90 days compared with other drugs.

THC is normally used for recreational purposes, but a number of its medical benefits have been recognized. Some of the ailments it could treat are the following:

  2. Depression
  3. Glaucoma
  4. Insomnia
  5. Migraines
  6. Nausea
