Stigma

Definition:

A carpel (or pistil) in a plant’s female reproductive system comprises the stigma, style, and ovary. The stigma is at the very top of the style. It is the part of the carpel that germinates pollen and is necessary for plant reproduction.

The sticky stigma of a plant collects and holds pollen that falls on it or is carried to by pollinators.
