Sauce[sɔːs]
Definition:
In the Cannabis niche, sauce refers to a cannabis extract with a sticky and liquid appearance. What makes sauce unique is its high level of terpenes, leading to a potent flavor.
Preparing Cannabis sauce involves using either cured or fresh frozen marijuana flowers from any strain. There will be fewer terps in a sauce produced from preserved flowers. On the other hand, sauce prepared from frozen fresh flowers is formally referred to as “live resin” and will have a more robust flavor.
The extraction procedure is similar to preparing other solvent-based extracts. Butane, propane, ethanol, and supercritical carbon dioxide are among the solvents used to make a sauce.
