Pesticide[ˈpɛstɪsaɪd]

Definition:

Any substance used to address the harmful presence of insects and other organisms is referred to as a pesticide. Growing plants may require the application of pesticides.

There are various types of pesticides available:

  1. Herbicides – To treat weeds
  2. Insecticides – To treat insects
  3. Fungicides – To treat molds and mildews
  4. Disinfectants – To prevent bacteria development

Pesticides do not necessarily mean to be chemical compounds. Some could be biological organisms that feed on specific pests.

Cannabis growers use neem oils (which are naturally occurring) and other beneficial insects as pesticides. Both of these do not pose a hazard to the Cannabis products we consume today.
