Delta-8-Tetrahydrocannabinol (Delta-8-THC)

Cannabinoid

Delta-8-Tetrahydrocannabinol[ˈdɛltə-8-Tetrahydrocannabinol]

Definition:

Delta-8 THC (or Delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol) is a cannabinoid found modestly in hemp and cannabis (marijuana) plants. Delta-8 THC is a psychoactive molecule that is quite similar to delta-9 THC in terms of effects. Delta-9 THC is a psychoactive chemical found in cannabis plants. When individuals talk about THC, they usually allude to this substance.

Though delta-8 THC is identical to delta-9 THC, its molecular structure is somewhat different, making it far less intense. The decreased potency may be advantageous for those who do not wish to experience a strong “high.” Delta-8 is also known to some as “marijuana-lite” or “diet weed.”
