Bract

Plant part

Bract[brækt]

Definition:

A bract is a plant part where the flowering buds develop. The bract protects the floral structure on most plants, but on cannabis plants, the bract is also considered the flower.

Bracts are meant to protect the flower and bud, but the bloom on the marijuana plant is also a floral bract, which leads to some misconceptions.
