Flower part

Anther[ˈænθɚ]

Definition:

In botany, anther refers to the oval-shaped sac that forms at the end of a male flower’s stamen. Because of their form, anthers are sometimes referred to as “bananas.”

Anthers are responsible for producing, storing, and delivering pollen. Female and male reproductive organs appear on distinct plants because cannabis is a dioecious plant (though cannabis may also develop both on the same plant). Female buds are the huge, resinous buds that we prefer for ingestion.
